Burn The House Down

Contributed by drone on Friday, 15th January 2021 @ 09:44:22 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

We don/'/t really
Care about
what/'/s happening
now days
as long as
the entertainment
remains in play
the TV go/'/s blank
and the internet
becomes a myth
just story/'/s
we tell our kids
where football stadiums
become prisons
for those who dare
to speak
Ask the people
in Chili
they will explain
to you
How it works
But until that day
We don/'/t really care
what/'/s happening
we are happy to stay
on the sidelines
Cheering and Shouting
Burn the house down

It/'/s an international sport
you see
and there are those
who are trying to ban it
But we have been playing
for years centuries
for thousands of years
Our House Down
First we burn others
and then
if others
Cannot burn ours
we burn our own
house down
That/'/s The Nature Of The Game
We Rise We Fall
Into Another Game
Brutal Barbarism And Savagery
and then
we rise again
Into Common Sense Reasoning
It/'/s half time you see
We Catch Our
collective breath
and then we start
the game again
But this time
the game is a little different
it/'/s moved up a pace
With all those new pretty
as yet unused
red buttons
and all those other
brand new Toy/'/s
Press one for virus
Two for nuke/'/s
what the hell
press em all
we haven/'/t been back
to the stone age
for ages
It will give our children
the chance
to become Acquainted
With Brutal Barbarism And Savagery
so they can rise
with our whispering words
that will filter down
through the ages
Be wise
Build your
your House
Play the game
it/'/s the best game in town
The Rules
are simple
When our house begins to Burn
Do Not Let Those
who want to stop the game
put it out
