The Gift... A Simple Chain Of Love

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Tuesday, 23rd March 2004 @ 10:00:02 PM in AEST
Topic: ThankYouPoems

Don't dismiss this tear...
You see falling from my eye
It's just a tear of happiness...
One of joy...
One of complete and total surprise...
Because of this gift... you were so determined to get for me
It means so much...
So much more than you'll ever know it to be
Or even realize how it has touched my heart
And left a deep impression on the love we share

I'm sorry...
I know...
I get so emotional over the tiniest of things
But your act of kindness was ever so sweet
Because you remembered me...

Our lives will be forever linked together
By your simple gift...
Forged from the love that's in our hearts
This plain simple chain of silver is just a simple chain of love
Entwined together are the strands of threaded silver
As is our love for one another

I know it's not the single rose...
My heart imagined...
No... it's more than that...
Because a rose would only die...
This is so much more beautiful...
I'll wear it with pride...

A gift made possible by your determination... your love
One... I thank you for... from the bottom of my heart
The gift... a simple chain of love
