Mr. Jenkis

Contributed by TheSchroedmeister on Tuesday, 23rd March 2004 @ 10:04:37 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Mr. Jenkis played the piano,
With chords and music
And love

I used to listen to
The music,
In the winter time,
And he would play
Me a tune

The world stole him,
And me

Short poem but it speaks volumes. You froze a friendship in time and captured its essence well.

Hmn. The world stole him? I'm trying to figure out if you're meaning the music or the moment . . . or both?
Regardless - its a momentous, yet short piece.
Well done.
Keep writing!!

You have such variety in your writing. I appreciate your style. This is nice. So much emotion in its simplicity.
