Eve of the Bloodmoon

Contributed by Vitreous_Soul on Tuesday, 6th April 2004 @ 08:17:21 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Clouds accumulate and deprive me of skyward sight
Obstructing nearly all of the crimson moonlight
Life blood flows endlessly through Luna's unearthly veins
A prison of red engulfs and drives me insane

Perception distorted, firelights burning my eyes
I reach and want to shatter the stained ruby skies
I'm slowly overtaken by the scarlet veil
Consumed in the continual fireball hail

I can feel it as it burns and sets ablaze my spirit
My pupils dilate garnet beam pulls me near it
Spirit is near it
I see it and hear it
I feel it coursing through my veins

Strength i've never felt, many aeons of bloodlust
I feel like the wolf crying to the moon of rust
Like the crush of bats that drain their victims dead
Devour, empowered, surrounded by the red

Walking hypnotized I see and I believe
I've been moonstruck on this unhallowed eve
Mesmerized and endowed with a certain kind of numb
While I remain encaged in the crimson sanitarium

Some of the imagery here is really cool, but I have to say that I can see from this how much your writing has matured since you wrote it. That is a compliment.
