The Final Chapter

Contributed by Vitreous_Soul on Tuesday, 20th April 2004 @ 06:24:15 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

I am worthless
My life is worthless
The love I give is empty
My promises spurious
My death will be meaningless
My words are hollow
My tears are wasted
My gifts are useless
I deserve no grave
I deserve only oblivion
I will have no tombstone
My bones will rot
My dust will be forgotten
My poetry will be lost
My face unremembered
No picture in the locket
No flowers sent
No mourning widow
No bereaved family
No despondent friends
No legacy left behind
My past erased
My thoughts stricken
My disease cured
My curtains drawn
My brake line cut
I'm undeserving
Insignificant in death
My final thoughts, finally revised
The scarlet crescendo flows
The windowpane shattered
A lionheart sundered
Soul of glass reaved
Melancholy injected
Just watch me fade
Let me vanish
For I am misplaced
God hates me
I hate me
Love hates me
Life hates me
Joy hates me
I shine no warmth
I bring no hope
I am worthless

And if you wish to visit me........
The unmarked headstone is where i'll be

This was so sad and depressing. You are not worthless but you have to realize that because no matter how many times someone tells you this until you believe it, it won't matter.

You are a very talented poet Vitreous. Do not give up your life is just beginning, just like mine.

If you need someone to talk to let me know. Okay?

Kie

You do shine warmth and hope. And thats what i say from reading your great poetry. I can't imagine how much the people around you feel love for you. You may not think so, but i can promise they do. Don't give up.

For some reason, it seems the most talented minds are also the most tormented. You will be remembered, and not only for your poetry.
It will be for your kindness and the goodness that we all see in you here. Keep strong my young friend. You are admired and held in high regard by more than you can imagine .

My dearest Dan,

For starters, this poem was so raw and unfinished....so less then perfect, so flawed... it was absolutely the most beautiful collection of thoughts I've ever read. You truely shine through every blistering word.

Now, I think you know, deep down, that I will miss you. I will mourn you. I dont think you are worthless. You know it would break my heart if you were gone. You have been one of the very few people who have truely cared about me and I genuinely care about you. I am always here. I promise.

Even when life is caving in and you're buried under the pressures of everything, reach out for my hand and I will help you back up. I want nothing more in the world then to see you happy. I want nothing in the world more then to see you as you want to see yourself.

Never give up. Never surrender. Dont let them win. When you get knocked down, get back up, grab hold of my hand, and we'll go together.

I love you Dan, you are a great friend.

Lindsey

Know this:
You are not worthless, your life is worth more than you could dream, your love is everything but empty, your promises meaningful, your death will strike grief into every individual who has truly spoken to you, your words are full, your tears not lost on anyone, your gifts are cherished, you deserve a grave with a warrior angel above it, you deserve to be welcomed to heaven's gates, your bones will be preserved, your dust remembered, your poetry greater than any, your face known by the world, your picture deserving any locket, your threshold adorned with red roses, your family left wishing they'd shown you the word love, your friends mourning, your legacy spread across nations, your past written through generations.

You are deserving, you bring inspiration to us all. No one hates you except yourself.

Keep writing... please...,
-Eve.

Love hates you?
That cannot be so, for love does not hate. That feeling cannot be true. Just hang in there. The clouds will pass. You will see the sun. Remember there is no dungeon in this world but what we make for ourselves - and we always have the ability to escape. Not by death. That is giving up. Escape is walking free over land you once knew, with your prison behind you. Not deserting the land, but regaining it. Follow the light. Only there is any hope.

''Upon the final chapter mortals call to the heavens, 'let this man live for his eyes and his words are but majestic in this world, if i should die for this man to live, then id died a thousand deaths' and with that the gods reached forth their might and gave this man immortality''

I would die a thousand deaths to see you live on dan, your words have taken me through tough times, your writings have inspired within me a sleeping talent i never thought or knew i had, your poetry and confidence, your friendship and almost master and student like advice has made me the writer and person i am today, to be remembered is a human want, but you dan you will forever be remembered in the people you touch, because you are an angel among men.

all the best my good friend,

Luke

I say no!
You are not as worthless as you seem,
You only need apply your dream.

Your poem is nicely wriotten, but painful to read. If this is your inspiration I pity you, I hope it is just your ideas. I hope you can be as the name you have chosen "Virtuous"
