Refugee from reality

Contributed by broken-glass on Monday, 7th June 2004 @ 03:54:08 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Torn in two
because of you
lost in thought
but nothings new.
Why come here(?) to question me...
I'm just a refugee from reality.
Simplistic endurance
every inch of occurence
All involved in chance,
like the flipping of a coin.

When something is too dark...
we erase it from our memory
(it is still there, the imprint is still there)
We reject what we cannot accept,
like these feelings of
desperation
like being filth, broken on the floor,
vulnerable and open, nothing changes much,
feeling...
open
and worthless,
as useful as a solar powered torch...
I cannot draw it all away,
cannot be lost inside a book...
I cannot cut or smoke it all away,
choke down the chemical.
I cannot laugh it all away,
you see through transparent smiles...
I cannot scratch it all away,
no inner pain confiding,
so I'll just sit here through the day,
inner screaming, hiding.
