Learning to Love

Contributed by Nazmythian on Friday, 6th August 2004 @ 06:37:21 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I couldn't have been
Much past seventeen
When I met a girl
She completed my world
She was the answer to my every dream
She was like a part of me I never knew was gone
Everything I thought was right
Suddenly seemed oh, so wrong
Until she took me by the hand
And helped me understand

And I guess you could say I was yearning
And I guess you could say I was burning
And I guess you could say I was learning ~ to love
And then ...

We could have been
Subjects of a Shakespeare play
We shared the same soul
We could never grow old
I can still recall the day
She said " I could never care for someone
More than I do you
Untill I met another and somehow the feelings grew"
Then she took me by the hand
Tried to help me understand

And I guess you could say I was yearning
And I guess you could say I was burning
And I guess you could say I was learning ~ to love
Just then

Time moves on
She's long since gone
But she left behind
Where I still find her
Memory

And I guess you could say I'm still yearning
And I guess you could say I'm still burning
And I guess you could say I'm still learning ~
To Love

Again

I understand exactly how you feel. You have expressed your feelings good throughout your poem and continue to write. You have a very unique style in your writing.-luckycharm.

Dearest poet, this is so far the most beautiful proclaimation of love I have read!! Gorgeously written, and enchanting flow! However, I am filled with sorrow, for "she" left you in the undying grasp of Anguish... I know this feeling of finally recieving something that seems so perfect, so incredibly beautiful, and then it is stolen from you... Love gives us bliss and a sense of being loved/wanted, and yet, it gives us unbearable pain to endure after a seperation... She shall forever be in the depths of your memories and heart, but you want someone to be there now, to embrace you, to fill that vast void where your heart used to be... You long for someone to teach you the mysteries of love once more, as we all do... May that teacher of love enter your world, and rid you of all the darkness that is in your precious heart... Once again, enthralling write, heartwrenching... I extremely enjoyed this piece! Thank you for revealing your soul to me again. I can percieve it all day, till time ceases... All my love, precious Scott! I await for your next exhilirating submission! Eternally yours,

Votre precieux Fleur

*doesn't know what to say*
I could say I agree with everyone else, because I do. But for some reason that doesn't seem enough.

Great write hun, but so very sad. Maybe this is something everyone has to go through.

*hugs* Phil

The first stanza hits the nail right on the head. I guess we all get our heart broken eventually and a bit of that pain never goes away. It's like a dormant virus just waiting for a weakness to set it ablaze again. Ranting here again. Sorry. Nice stuff.
Impressed again.
