The Fruits of a lifeless Life: Part 2-Suffering

Contributed by Versifier on Friday, 15th October 2004 @ 01:58:26 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Suffering…
-That dreary fate.
-That listless trait.
It has consumed me once before-
Left me dead upon the shore-
Drowned me in my sea of sorrow-
The abyss that corrupts my mind’s tomorrow.
Left me helpless,
Lifeless,
Defenseless,
Dead.
Locked me in the deep of red-
No matter where I lay my head-
Its blood creeps ashore-
It has conformed my bed.
Its scent has lead me-
To my souls dead core-
The once used door
For my passion’s locked store-
Now I am blocked from that world I once adored-
Cut off short from that known full lore.
In the past I was blind
-though I never chose to seek.
Left for dead-
Tied to the tarnished vessel’s moor
-though I would not die.
-nor choose to cease.
For death was created and bestowed upon the weak.
Though living through fright is the curse of the meek.
If truth be told
-you are at your peak
When selfless, refined mercy is breached-
Suffer! Suffer! Suffer!
Although you may never die
A lie your spirit cannot subside-
A flaw your pores may not deny.
Dare to confine?
-No?
-Your in a bind?
Rapt in a reclusion of one’s social ally?
Where you shall run
-Your thoughts may never hide?
What a shame…
-To waste your livid lies!
To suffer for all your petty strife
To strive for meager nickels and dimes
To waste trivial time
-living this life
Of hatred, anguish, and bittersweet trite
To beg to be spared with all your might-
To lose before you’ve begun to fight-
Perpetually defeated by this maniacal plight-
Saved by the dark- Burdened by the light-
The ordeal that smites my skin, my pride-
The blood that leaks from my slashed and slit hide-
Try and try-
You’re in a truss.
Though derive this ruse-
Of this unfortunate truce-
Of suffering and death’s-
Common lines depth
For you’ve bleed dry
-for now
And your soul has been spent.
For your hardhearted mind is drowning in debt.
For the tears that don’t fall-
And mourn left unwept.
For the rigid palms of life
Are too often unkempt …
