Retreat to Darkness

Contributed by EternalNight4x on Saturday, 13th November 2004 @ 10:22:16 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Enclosed in everlasting night
Fought my way to see daylight
A constant haze obscures my view
No longer sure which path to choose
Don't know my right foot from my left
Persuing through without a rest
Ahead I see a shimmering light
The path I chose I know is right
The darkness around begins to fade
With the progress I have made
One more step and I'll be free
Too bad that path's not meant for me

I liked it up until the last line, then it got sad. I totally relate to this. You can see it and you want it, but no matter what you do you know it just isn't going to happen. Why? Because people like us always get the short end of the stick.. LOL. Whatever that means... Good write, sort and sweet.
