Ill say it to the sun that beams through my window
To the way his fur feels between my fingers
To the sounds of the silent music
To my warm comfortable corner
To the smell of the teriyaki carpet stain

Ill say it to the young pests, whom I love and will miss
To the view of the night sky from my window
To her beautiful smile and young mind that does not know this world
To the warmth of the fire on winter nights
To my happiness when she returned home

Ill say it to the love you gave and took away
To the hurt I felt when I couldnt come home
To the pain you caused this fragile soul
To the perfect world you forced me to live in
To the shattered image I saw before me

Ill say it to the tears that stained this face
To the bitterness you tried to cure
To the snot rockets you flung on these walls
To the times I wish you would have held me
To the lonely nights when I held myself

Ill say it to the wounds that scarred my skin
To the blood that once dripped on this floor
To the lies you said that pierced my heart
To my invisible truths that you would never believe
To the fairytale ending that would never be

Ill say it to the endless beatings I did not deserve
To the times I lied so you would stop
To the hypocritical life you led
To the times when you did not love me
To the times when I never stopped loving you

Ill say it to you because for some reason Ill miss you
To the short time we had to piece things back together
To the love you tried to give thinking I didnt notice
To the hugs that came too late
To the nights you prayed for me hoping God would save my soul

Ill say it to the scent you leave as you walk out the door
To the foot prints that follow after you
To the truck as it pulls out of the driveway
To your endless waves and longing faces
To the view form the house when you drive away one last time

Ill say it before its too late
Goodbye

That was so strong, I don't know the exact place you came from in writing this, but it is powerful words and it made me feel heavy. Good poem. Tiffany J.

Wow. I am in this right now. I stayed for over a decade, waiting. He decided to change but it was too late. Only difference is, I do not miss him at all and I know him well enough to know that his new-found religion will not save his soul. He hasn't found his yet.
This is wonderful. Lisa
