You lifted me to grounds
I thought I could never tread
Believed in me in everyway
Even when my heart astray was lead
You protected me from failure
From the troubles in my life
Guarded me from heart breakers and
Guys who'd gave me strife
You watched out for me
You cared in so many ways
Always being there for me
Even when I told you to go away
I look at you admirably and
I wished that I could be
Everything that you are
Special and trusting, unlike me
Your presence was always felt
In the distance you were there
To catch me before I fell
Showing me how much you care
You never asked for anything
Never wanting anything in return
Just for me to be happy
Was Your main concern
I was always in the spotlight
You always made me shine
Walking in my shadow
The coldness in the outlines
While all that time you were in pain
An illness taking hold of you
I was too wrapped up in myself
I didn't see the suffering you went through
I'm so sorry I was selfish
I wished I could turn back time
Just to let you know
That my love for you is prime
You're my unsung hero
Who made the best of everything
The one who lifted me high
You were the guiding wind beneath
my wings
Now that you"re gone
I hold the memories of you
Of my beautiful unsung hero and
All the pleasant things you used to do....

I was reading thru your poetry Sue and you have this way of making cry with each poem!
It is like you pen your soul and that always gets to me.
You reach depths, I cannot imagine and touch, really touch the reader.
My condolescenes in regards to your loss.
