Useless ramblings from a silent poet, Smeared ebony illusions, Philosophies of emptiness, And the world is dead on CNN
A sigh of lost dreams, A kiss from coarse lips, Cries from the mouth that called me Whore, The monster is only a figment, He is not my father, He is
NOTHING
Faded photographs of a life that once was, A tale of innocence and childhood, A youthful existence tainted mercilessly, By the hands of Molestation, Hanging dead on the gallows of the Fallen, Never to resurface from the ashes
Manifestations of a fevered mind, Enticing caresses from haunting shadows of the past, Oh, such images these hands create, And for what purpose?
Blind are the eyes that seem like they are open, Deaf are the ears that proclaim they are listening
Words are only wasted ink, An endless puddle of worthless litany, Why force a weary voice to shout of bohemian revolutions, When all it will shout is silence?
The pen has sacrificed its last expression, The tale is left unfinished, And all thatll resonate through the stillness, Will be the melodious ramblings, Of the ever-garrulous flower

The pen having sacrificed its last expression is discarded and I offer up mine own for there are to be ten in the series ... you have so stated yourself and you can not quit now. Hope awaits anxiously ... in silence ... in din ... for you to rely on it once again and is its nature ... ever will it wait ... and Hope

A piece thick with emotion. But I don't like the self-degradation - it hurts to read...
Excellent writing though. I especially like the first italicized stanza.
Blessings.

Ramblings? I do not see any rambling here,
but I do see an amazing poem just dripping
with emotion. Wow yeah this was awesome
definitely one of the best of yours I have read.

Again, I am impressed with your courage to bitterly face your experience, in every poem that you write. that is impressive because most people are too afraid to let it out, let alone, confront it as intensely as you do.
This poem is excellent, and you words struck me in every stanza.
I really liked the spontanaity of "And the world is dead on CNN…" in the first stanza. I can't tell you why, but that part made me smile.
Faded photographs of a life that once was,
I thought this was a great image, and that stanza was very direct and brutal. Very well done.
Words are only wasted ink,
An endless puddle of worthless litany,
Why force a weary voice to shout of bohemian revolutions,
When all it will shout… is silence?
I think this very much expressed your feelings while writing this poem....a "What's the point" kind of feeling.....and very understandably so.
Sorry I haven't been able to post as much.......life is.....taking me with it.
Be True,

I remember this one. Admittedly, I have not yet read all your work but this one I did. I cannot, however, remember when I read it. However my reaction would be the same. I either did not know you at the time and was afraid to express any feelings I have towards this...this painful write...or...I did come to know you and was still afraid. The fear would be to instigate any unwanted memories. However, having a good friend who has suffered the same, just knowing what I do generally, and having some of my own experiences similar to this, yet not as...hmmmm...damaging(?) I know those memories, those thoughts never go away. This goes back to what I said on one of your previous Poet's Ramblings and that is why does God let things like this happen? Free will...bull*****!!! These type things brings tears to my eyes. I know I had a reaction to this the first time I read it. I may have even sent a pm instead or at least thought of it. I just know that it is powerfully anguishing and I didn't even experience it. I can only hope that as the years have passed you have at least gotten better. I truly abhor the things some "men" can do. You were very brave to write this.
Take care,
Love,
Tim |
