Death and Resurection

Contributed by laukala on Wednesday, 6th April 2005 @ 06:31:33 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

You came to the world a new born child
Your love for man cannot be measured, not even by miles
You were rejected by most, even by your home town
Then somehow, atop your head was placed a thorny crown

They took you to a hill where at your wrist was place a nail
All the hopes of the disciples, they thought would never sail
They rose your cross inbetween that of two thieves
They just let you hang there to moan and to grieve

Finaly you let out a yell, "IT IS FINISHED"
Often I wonder what the people couldn't tell
But then I think to myself, this why that child was born
You came to the world, only to adorn

Taken off of your cross and sent to a tomb
Your resurection was to be very very soon
Finaly, the guards were out like lights
The angels roled away the stone, and did it with little might

You showed yourself to the disciples and more
Through your actions you are now adored
You flew away to the heavenly heavens
Now we must wait for just one more seven

You came to the world a new born child
Your love for man cannot be measured, not even by miles
I know you are coming back some day
Untill then I will worship you and wait
