I look back on you and me
The times we shared of peace
The words you used to whisper
Late at night
You would rock me to sleep
I would never weep
But things have changed and
You're no longer here

I remember every word
That put a smile on my face
You always had a way
To make me laugh
Now only tears are fallin down
Im lyin here not makin a sound
And Im startin to give in
Cause I dont have you

God doesn't know how I need you
Or he wouldn't have taken you away
He doesn't know how you held me up
How I miss you more with each day
I can only think of the last thing you said
You were dying, and I was crying by your side..

"Hold your head up high
You can make it through
Take it day by day
I'll be watchin over you
I know you can do whatever
You put your heart to..."
And with your last breath, you whispered
"Dont forget I love you.."

Its hard to get away from dark
Lookin for the light at the end of the tunnel
Im losing my way I need ou
Need your hand to guide me
Im crying more tears each day
Remembering you in brand new ways
In every window I
See your face

Its hard to go on like this
I need you more than anything
I wear your name around my neck
In your memory
I think of you when things get hard
You always seemed to be on track
Had things perfectly
Figured out

God doesn't know how I need you
