Don't Ask. Just Listen.
I've danced with you,
And loved with you,
I've worked with you
And played with you
I've lived with you
And died with you
Forever must I cry for you.
If cliche's paint by thousand numbers
This picture bleeds, and so encumbers
Meaning's substance; context's thrust,
To blend impressions of my trust.
I've stayed with you,
I've died for you
I've worked and played
And lied for you;
I've tried to do those things that you
Most need and want this love to do;
Forever may not be as new,
So love, please know that now I'm through;
I've danced your dance,
Of true romance,
I changed my stance
When I had the
Chance.
And then I knew . . .
That lover's lance -
Forever will it fly askew . . .
