The flashing zodiac sign with the centaur
Whisks swift-winged through the stellar bower;
Half horse - half man,- through heliacal spheres
Amid the constellations layered tiers.

It is the archer, bowman, Sagittaire,-
A jaunty fellow, bold and debonair,
Straight forward honest fellow he,
Speaks always truth,- but with ferocity.

Scorpio's route he blocks and then unlocks
The gate to winter solstice's epinox.
He aims at whom he wills with dart and bow,
Be it patrician, broker, or John Crowe.

Then disappears into the flitting mist
In search of mills that yield his wanted grist.
Capricorn's bleating shrills through quivering air:
"Beware of Rinderpest and Sagittaire"!

Choice picture post cards show him prankishly
With plane and saw and tools for carpentry;
His workbench groans, wood shavings zoom-
Which will defeat and mock the sturdiest broom!.



Elusive's he, - yet likes to socialize.
But trims Elite and bums to equal size,
Slights protocol and formal etiquette-
Yet may be seen with hobos tête-à-tête.

He rides his horse into the festive hall,
Is playful, spirited, and jovial,
But Saggi is not fond of etiquette,
And heads directly on to the buffet.

And disregarding hostess and the host,
Will lift a Bourbon glass and friendly "Toast"
And then descend alike a shooting star
Upon Hors d'Oevres and the caviar.


Takes pleasure in the stuffed delicious trout,
And disregards the barons and their crowd,
Attacks fine viandes that he will gladly share
With bums, - this cherished son of Jupiter.

Outrageous, bold and naughty chap he is,
"Une peste! une peste! vrai peste!", shrieks the Marquise,
"Abominable lui! " moans the baron;
"Pestiféré, - fleuri un boulion! "

He seizes crescents, pain Francais and roll.
And empties with respect the goulash bowl.
Yet keen observers cannot fail to see
The shadows of the chap's complexity.

The chap is spiritual in spite of this,
Adaptable, and has the means wherewith
To fit, adjust to any environment,
Though often does forget to pay his rent.

He has a special fling for tipping scales
and mixing vineous drafts with nut-brown ales;
Then travels happily by cart and skiff,
Or coal shed of a steam-locomotive.

Of a potato sack he may make use
To cloak himself in - and a portly Muse
Will sit on it,- and rouse him to confer
"Good Luck" to any fellow traveller.

This rascal, Saggi's element is Fire.
Beware therefore, and do not rouse his ire,
Don't play with fire, only notice it,
If not, you'll gawk, somewhat discomforted.

His Muse's heft persuades him to bestow
His potent good-will favors on John Crowe,
Adventurous! he travels far to learn
And loves the people that with passions burn.

A chap whose humor and hilariousness,
May turn into a deadly seriousness,
When he decides to probe profundity,
Of souls desiring his company.

And Saggi scorns conventionality,
But draws from humor spirituality.
Straight shooter he- direct his talk and fierce,
His truthfulness can shock some quirky ears.

Some folks with his straightforwardness can't deal.
When they his arrow all too to keenly feel,
Direct is Saggi, - so direct - some flee
Before the Archer's savage honesty.

He shields with pride his Sagittarian wards,-
His earthly replicas - artists and bards.
But Aries - the Ram, bleats load and blares:
"Beware of gadflies, pox and Sagittaires!"

Hot Canus Major and his dog-stars bark:
"Beware! - don't meet this fellow in the dark!"-
"Watch out!" - he'll hit you in the fleeting haze
Of Milky Ways, or lanes of Cyberspace-
"Take heed!- the rogue will shoot and set a spark,
And when he hits, he'll leave on you his mark!.
