If Trees Could Talk

Contributed by Invierno on Monday, 30th May 2016 @ 12:18:35 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

My arm is now a coffee table;
my fingers, the legs.
I had better plans for me,
but these hackings beg
to change my destiny.
Just because I grow slow,
you cut my body for your things,
never asking if I mind
when you find a Me of many rings.
You slap stain on my departed parts
then lather me in gloss,
plop a mirror atop me,
staring at yourselves, sitting on my arm
that/'/s now your chair
ere a thank you or a care to what I/'/ve lost.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
