Woven Threads

Contributed by ever1der on Wednesday, 5th October 2016 @ 03:33:47 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

A blanket tightly woven
in every kind of hue.
Held up closely to the light
purple mixes in with blue.
Passing years are never seen
nor is the blankets wear.
With use threads stretch and fringes fall
the wool begins to tear.

Mending is soon started,
for now the threads all match.
Soon the tears will be too big
the wool will need a patch.
Winter finds the blanket
in a heap in an old chair.
Filled with holes that go un-patched
and no one seems to care.

Hello

You write of a very true things here, people neglect relationship so quick, there is nothing as cozy as a patched blanket, and so to a patched relationship when two people can sit back and reminisce over days of old, good and bad, awesome write you have here, I trust you will find a few patches, God bless

Greetings
Rus

It seems that friendships are even more throwaway these days, maybe the Internet is the make and the destroyer all at the same time.
You reminded me that I must try harder, as I/'/m sure some many people should, to keep those embers of friendship alive.

So many times a friendship can no longer be mended due to pride. Who can put the differences aside and apologize or sit down and put in the effort to rescue. The distance grows rapid. There is wisdom and truth in your words. Well stated
