Words I Couldn't Say

Words I Couldn't Say

Oh, I'm... great with wo-rds,
Except when I need them,
My mind, oh, it ra-ces but,
breath, it escapes.

So of-ten I've tried to
Express what's inside me,
But one look in her eyes
and I just go blank

And so I'll... Write it down,
Spell it out clear-ly
No chance to back out
or admit, I'm afraid

And I will, sing it lo-ud,
Confess these concealed things
No longer bu-ried or, hidden away
Love giving me the words I couldn't say...

Spo-ken aloud, the truth these words carry
Ignite the flames burning so deep in my heart.

Engulfed by these feelings,
My fear burn to em-bers
Strength rises from the ashes
and it tears doubt apart

And so I'll, write it do-wn,
Spell it out clear-ly,
No chance to back out or
Admit, I'm afraid

And I'll, sing it lo-ud,
Confess these concealed things,
No longer bu-ried or, hidden away,
Love giving me the words I couldn't say...

Oh how I've lo- -nged,
For this da-- -y, when,
This burden is lifted,
My life never the same.

Oh this love it consumes me,
But no words will move me like
The joy of simply speaking, her name....

And so I'll, write it do-wn...

Yes, I'll, write it do-wn...

(Pause)

Write it do-wn, spell it out clear-ly,
Never back out or admit, I'm afraid and I will,
Sing it so lo-ud, confess these concealed things,
Never to bu-ry or hi-de them away,
Love giving me the words I couldn't say...
Love giving me the words I couldn't say...
Love giving me the words........

I couldn't say...

This is a very different kind of right but I must admit I liked it. It was mysterious & romantic all at the same time

The repetition and reassurance in this poem is very appealing as and effective. I must say the style you picked to portray the main message in caught my eye and is oh so unique. How lovely! Take care and God bless,
Deidra
