Sad stories,
drifting on sad streams
in sad dreams
of blissful melodies.
If I should cry
before I wake,
I'd pray the emotion
wasn't fake,
but true as the brightest blue
of the brightest sky
so shining new.
Reflect a moment,
on the day,
how it flew,
and the way
it seems to drift
like summers past
too hot to stand,
but to short to last.
Wake me up,
before I sleep
and find a rest
way too deep
to ever escape from
to sweet reality,
too real to be real,
and too real,
to make me happy.
