Pass The Pie 🍕

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Friday, 18th September 2020 @ 03:09:19 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

My lady friend said I was deaf
I was too dumb and blind to see
What she had in store for me
She was a little vixen who went missin`
She was later found in the moonlight
Cause her hair did glisten
Afterward, I sat on the bus
Met an old cuss named Gus
In him, I did mistrust
He looked like a clown
Red hair but no crown
When told he shared only a frown
Later I hopped on a train
That looked like a plane
I always thought my mom was insane
As she thought I looked like Don McLean
To the stewardess, I did complain
But it was all in vain
I started to cry
My pleads denied
I made up stories and began to lie
All she did was wet her whistle
As we flew over the fields of thistle
In an attempt to divert
I asked her for some dessert
She brought me a slice of American pie
And that`s no lie

//// Dammit! That song is going through my head now.

Here ya` go:

"Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin` this/'/ll be the day that I die
This/'/ll be the day that I die"

Nice, James! Are you gonna do one on the lines of Starry, starry night/Vincent? A tribute to one of my favorite painters by one of my favorite singers.
