Live for now

Contributed by Vic on Monday, 21st September 2020 @ 03:40:02 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

A show of skill is not the same
As easing another man/'/s brain
I have none so I simply stick to my songs
I share with you the words that are on my mind
If they don/'/t please you just leave them behind

Heavy hearts weighed down
By the strange ways of life
Trying hard to right all the wrongs
If my old tales can help your tangles unwind
Why then worry about what we cannot find?

Live for now because living ain/'/t later
When you forget to breath you can/'/t feel at all
Know somehow that you can be the initiator
Of serene solace in this boisterous world so small
How do we learn to rise without taking a fall?

"Live for now because living ain/'/t later" has got to be my favorite line. Made me smile.

Everything said here makes you take notice.
Awesome write. My father which was the hardest working man I had ever known subscribed to the fact you live later. Some of us may never make it to the point we live later.
Often later you are not able to do the things you wanted.
A great poem....

As Mr. Stockdale said
got to live now
later you may not be able to...
